The Spanish tactician lost his second match in a row...

Albert Roca’s men conceded a second straight defeat in the league as Bengaluru FC went down 2-1 to Churchill Brothers in the I-League match played at Tilak Maidan yesterday evening.

John Johnson was shown a red card for his reckless tackle on a Churchill midfielder Richard Costa and later the English defender was involved in a fight with Churchill head coach Alfred Fernandes, where he pushed him on the ground while leaving the pitch. Roca attended the post-match media interaction in a frustrated mood and also tried to defend his player, putting all the blame on Churchill tactician Fernandes.

"First of all, I want to make the statement, for me today it was a shame for Indian football. I've never seen a coach kicking a player of the other team. I hope that this coach (Alfred Fernandes) will never coach again in India," Roca asserted.

He also denied the fact that Johnson actually deserved a red card and said “Football players get red cards. That is normal and the referee was there to control the situation. For me, it was not a red card.  But a coach can never provoke a situation. He was a clown.  He cannot kick a player of my team. Churchill Brothers don't deserve to have this coach,"

The former Barcelona Assistant coach further added saying. “We were in control after the first goal and we could have scored the second goal but then we made a mistake. We lost control of the match. Churchill scored from the first two proper shots on the goal and then they did a good job, they were defending with more than 9 players,”

Roca also pointed out the mistakes of the referee. As per him, the incident of violence between the Churchill coach and Johnson wasted more than 10 minutes, but the referee added fewer stoppage minutes.

“In that indecent, we almost wasted more than 10 minutes but the referee gave only four minutes as added time but again I cannot control all this what I can control is my team,” Roca said.
