The Spaniard hopes his team can produce a series of wins starting with with Goa on Thursday...
FC Pune City’s head coach Antonio Habas met the press on the eve of his side’s home game against FC Goa. The Stallions have had improved performances but the result has still been missing. In their last game, they drew 1-1 with Delhi Dynamos, on a night when goalkeeper Edel Bete saved his side on numerous occasions. Pune thougt have had a week’s time between their last game and this one and Habas was keen to point out how his side had utilized the time. The Spaniard said, "We are building a strong team. So after these seven days we have been working with the team but we are in the same process of building the team. We need time but the time is now over. So we need to win as soon as possible." Habas, formerly of Atletico De Kolkata was asked if the smaller pitch size at the Balewadi Sports Complex has affected his side’s preparations but was quick to deny that. "It's not about the ground. The players at Atletico de Kolkata and at Pune City are different. So it’s not the same.” The 59-year-old talked about how football’s magic word is balance. He believes there has to be a balance between attack and defence. "The magic word in football between attack and defense is balance. Sometimes we are good in defense but not the same in attack, maybe in another match we are good in attack but not in defense. You can see the goal difference now is -1. So the balance is almost equal and we need to score more goals," he commented. Habas ended the press conference stating that the team desperately needed the win. "Things can change. We need the win for the fans, players, for the club and for me. We have been solving our problems and I think tomorrow (Thursday) is a good day," he signed off.
