The Highlanders have lost three on the bounce ahead of the game against Goa…

Portuguese Coach Nelo Vingada will be looking to grab the full three points when his side will face FC Goa in the Indian Super League match at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Goa on Friday. Even after having a good start to the season NorthEast United FC have slipped to the bottom half of the league table. They have earned just a single point from the last four matches. “According to the situation that we are in, this is a crucial match for us. We started the league well but this is football. After a few games, even when we lost, we were performing well but in the last game we were not at the level that I expected,” said the Portuguese coach. “We will return to our level again and try to win the match. If we want to reach the playoffs, it is very important for us to win,” he further added. Vingada thinks that FC Goa is the most difficult team in the league at present, as the players playing for Goa will be in a must win situation. When asked about how important it is for them to win against the home team Vingada said, “We are working hard to give another image of our team, so it’s important to win. Goa will be missing some players. As a coach, I want the best for NorthEast United. I want my team to beat the best with good football but I want all players to play for Goa, so also for my team. Some of my players cannot play due to injury and suspension.” A win in Goa will keep the Highlanders in contention for the playoffs but a draw or a loss here will make it tough for them. But coach Vingada is very confident ahead of the match. “I don’t care if they are playing with all Indians or six-five thing, for me it will be that we will beat the most difficult team and perform much better than the last game,” concluded the Portuguese coach.
