Zagreb Wrestling Ranking Series 2023: Schedule, Telecast & Results
Everything you need to know about the first grappling tournament of the year.
The first wrestling tournament of 2023 is going to start in Zagreb, Croatia. The Zagreb Wrestling ranking series also known as the Grand Prix Zagreb Open will begin on the 1st of February and finish on the 5th of the same month. A total of 600 wrestlers are set to take part across three styles (freestyle, women, and Greco-Roman). India has named a strong contingent with the likes of Olympic medallist Bajrang Punia and Ravi Dahiya set to take part along with 2022 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist Vinesh Phogat.
Format
The wrestlers would participate in the qualification rounds and repechages, culminating in the final on the same day. For instance FS 57-61-65-70-74-86 kg will be having their wrestling competition day on the 1st of Feb. They will also have their finals on the same day along with the award ceremony.
Similarly FS 79-92-97-125 kgs will have their event on the 2nd of February. Before the commencement of the competition the draws, the medical tests and the weigh in would take place.

Prize Money
The United World Wrestling (UWW) will award gold, silver and bronze medals, and money prize in each weight category. The gold winner will get 1500,00 CHF, the silver winner 750,00 CHF and the bronze winner 500,00 CHF.
