Teams continue journey for Hockey World Cup and Olympic Games qualification.
The Men's 2021-2022 FIH Hockey Pro League will reach its conclusion this year. The competition is contested between nine top teams and the tournament will showcase the best talent on the hockey fields. It also serves as the qualifier for the Hockey World Cup and Olympic Games. In this edition, the tournament started on 16th October 2021 and will reach it's climax on 30th June 2022.
The format of this competition is based on the home and away principle. However, this principle was split over two consecutive seasons from 2020-2021 season onwards. This works according to the following example. Team A will host team B within a couple of days and vice-versa. The tournament underwent a lot of changes with the participants.
New Zealand, Australia and Canada have withdrawn from the tournament. South Africa and France came in as their replacements. This year the tournament will resume from the 4th of Feb. The last game of the tournament was played in November 2021, between the Netherlands and Belgium.
India will look to clinch their first ever Pro League title, having already won the bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. They begin their tournament against France on February 8th in South Africa.
Here's the complete schedule of the upcoming fixtures for the Men in Blue in the FIH Men's Pro League.
