Saina Nehwal, Lakshya Sen headline Day 2 of India Open 2022

The shuttlers will be looking to play on the front foot in their respective opening round clashes.
After an action-packed Day 1 of the India Open 2022, the second day promises to be no less. Indian stars will continue their quest for the title. This Super 500 series event marks the start of the BWF World Tour and star shuttlers from all over the world are participating.
Indian stars like PV Sindhu and Kidambi Srikanth have already opened their account in the tournament on Day 1. More Indian stars like HS Prannoy, Saina Nehwal and young sensation Lakshya Sen will be in action on Day 2.
The tournament is returning after two long years and the Indian badminton fans will be hoping to see both the titles won by someone from this soil.

Men's Singles
The 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist HS Prannoy will be in action as he takes on Spain's Pablo Abian. The veteran shuttler has been battling health issues on his return, but he made it to the quarter-finals at the World Championships in Huelva. He will be looking to carry that form into this tournament. The 29-year-old is the eighth seed at the India Open 2022, but will look to put on a great show.
Another Indian veteran Ajay Jayaram will also take the court on Day 2. The 34-year-old will go up against the talented Irish youngster Nhat Nguyen. It will be a tough test for the Indian, but he will hope to put up a good fight.
Later on in the day, Lakshya Sen who bagged the bronze medal at the World Championship in Huelva, Spain, will kick-start his campaign in the India Open 2022. All eyes will be on the Indian shuttler, as he faces Egypt's Adham Hatem Elgamal in the opening round.
Women's Singles
The women's singles will be headlined by Olympic medalist Saina Nehwal. The former India Open champion is looking to make a comeback to international badminton with this tournament. The 31-year-old missed out on the tournament last year due to injury and will be eager to start her campaign with a win, when she goes up against Czech Republic's Tereza Švábíková.
Indian youngsters Samiya Farooqui and Malvika Bansod will also look to make their mark at the India Open 2022. Both unfortunately will lock horns against each other in the opening round of Day 2.

Doubles
There is a lot of doubles action waiting on Day 2 of the India Open 2022. Home favourite pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be in action, as they will face another Indian pairing in Ravi and Chirag Arora in the opening round of the tournament. There is a lot of hope on the Satwiksairaj-Chirag duo to perform at their best and finish on the top of the podium. They are the third seeds in the event and will look to justify that with their performances.
Similarly, hopes will be pinned on Ashwini Ponappa and N Sikki Reddy as they will take the court on Day 2. The star Indian pairing in women's doubles will take on another Indian pairing of Janani Ananthakumar and Divya R. Balasubramanian. Ponappa and Reddy are the second seeds in this tournament and the Indian badminton fans are hoping to see them achieve great heights in the India Open.
Lastly, there will be some eyes on the Indian pairing of Ashwini Bhat and Sikha Goutam. The women's duo are the eighth seeds and will look to outperform their capabilities to end up on the podium, as they open their campaign against compatriots Daksha Gautam and Anubha Kaushik.
