Indian sports personalities react to India’s lunar mission success.
The world witnessed India accomplish a remarkable milestone as the nation’s Moon mission, ‘Chandrayaan-3’ landed successfully on the lunar surface today at 6:04 pm. With this, India became the sole country to safely land a spacecraft on the south pole of the Moon. Following this, a small vehicle called a rover will exit the spacecraft to explore the Moon’s surface.
Earlier, on July 14, 2023, the Chandrayaan-3 had taken off for the moon from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre Second Launch Pad in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, India. By August 5, 2023, the spacecraft had successfully reached the Moon’s orbit. It is important to note that the budget of the mission which scripted history was a whopping Rs. 615 crores.
Every Indian citizen, including the sportspersons, was on cloud nine as India achieved this historic feat on Wednesday. Indian cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Venkatesh Prasad, Mithali Raj, Kuldeep Yadav, K L Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Ishan Kishan were elated by this huge accomplishment achieved by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and shared their response on Twitter.
The Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, shared a picture of him on Twitter, watching the Chandrayaan-3 mission of the moon landing on his Television. In his tweet, he acknowledged the hard work of ISRO members and congratulated both the Chandrayaan-2 team which was headed by Kailasavadivoo Sivan, and the Chandrayaan-3 team led by S. Somanath for their relentless efforts. The Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma also posted about the landing and wished huge congratulations to ISRO for all their efforts.

Tennis queen Sania Mirza also shared her happiness on Twitter regarding the success of Chandrayaan-3, where she mentioned that it was a joyful moment for the one billion people of India.
Former Indian wrestler and the London Olympics bronze medalist Yogeshwar Dutt also shared the proud moment and quoted in Hindi regarding India’s successful landing on the moon. Meanwhile, two-time World Wrestling Championships bronze medalist Vinesh Phogat also retweeted about it on her Twitter account.
