The day 4 of FISU World University Games concluded in a fine fashion for the Indians. Compound archers Sangampreet Singh Bisla and Avneet Kaur bagged gold medals each in the individual events and end their campaign on a high. The former defeated South Africa’s de Klerk in a thrilling finale (149-148) while the latter got the better of USA’s Sturgill Grace. Overall, this is the best medal tally from the sport having garnered three gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.

Apart from the individual event the mixed doubles pairing of Saini and Pragati too claimed the top spot in the compound archery section.
The trio of Avneet, Pragati, and Purvasha fell short of cinching gold in the women’s compound team event. Also with Aman securing the third spot in men’s compound archery, this is the first time two Indian archers finished in the podium at the World University Games.
Apart from Archery, the medals continue to flow by in shooting with Aishwary Pratap Singh obtaining the top spot in men’s 10m Air Rifle event. He surpassed his compatriot Divyansh Singh Panwar who finished second with China’s Song Buhan finishing third.
