Paris Olympics 2024 Day 4 Results: Manu-Sarabjot win bronze; Satwik-Chirag, hockey team qualify for knockouts
The Indian medal tally saw an addition on a positive day.
Indian athletes performed valiantly on July 30 (Tuesday) at Paris Olympics 2024. Their efforts across multiple disciplines such as table tennis, shooting, boxing and badminton kept the fans on the edge of their seats.
It was a positive outing for Manu Bhaker who secured a second medal at the Paris Olympics after winning bronze alongside teammate Sarabjot Singh in the 10m Air Pistol mixed Team event. By achieving this feat, she became the first-ever post-independence Indian athlete to secure multiple Olympic medals in a single edition.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty continued their winning start in badminton but Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponappa suffered another defeat. It was a disappointing day in boxing as both Amit Panghal and Jaismine Lamboria lost their respective opening bouts.
However, there was more reasons to celebrate for the Indian fans as the men’s hockey team produced a sublime performance in the process of beating Ireland by a 2-0 scoreline.
Here is a look at how the Indian athletes fared on July 30 (Monday) across various disciplines:
