A formidable contingent of 327 athletes is set to represent Great Britain at the Paris Olympic Games.

The United Kingdom has been represented at every modern Olympic Games, and as of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, UK is third in the all-time Summer Olympic medal table in terms of both number of gold medals won and overall number of medals. They currently stand at the 4th place, only behind US, the Soviet Union and Germany. London has hosted the Summer Olympic Games three times: in 1908, 1948, and 2012.

British athletes have won 950 medals at the Games, 916 of which were won at the Summer Olympics, where Team GB is the only team to have won at least one gold medal at every game. They haven’t been as successful in the winter Olympics, as they’d hoped to win just thirty-four medals including 12 Gold medals. The United Kingdom finished in first place on the medals table at the 1908 games, placed second at the 2016 games, and third at the 1900, 1912, 1920, and 2012 games.

At the last two Olympic Games, in Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo, Great Britain secured an impressive 67 and 64 medals, respectively. With a substantial contingent set to compete in Paris, the nation aims to win between 50 and 70 medals at the upcoming Games.

Without further ado, let’s explore the full list of Great Britain’s contingent for the Paris Olympics 2024.
