The Indian won the first game and was leading 8-3 in the second. But he started losing points in haste eventually losing the game. It was a similar storyline in another bronze medal match.

In the last shooting event of Paris Olympics 2024, India had to battle China for a bronze medal in the Skeet Mixed Team event. The pair of Maheshwari Chauhan and Anand Jeet Singh Naruka lost the playoffs 44-43 to leave the fans disappointed.

Men’s hockey team – Semifinals (10:30 PM IST)

Indian men’s hockey team has been on an impressive run in Paris Olympics 2024. They had a slow start to their campaign with a hard-fought win against less-fancied New Zealand. In their next game against Argentina, they escaped with a draw thanks to Harmanpreet Singh’s goal in the penultimate minute.

A loss to Belgium meant that India hadn’t made a bigger impact. But a 3-2 win against Tokyo Silver medalist Australia gave a huge sense of confidence to the team.

In the quarterfinals it went one notch higher as India were reduced to 10 men which did not deter them from keeping Great Britain at bay. It was a repeat of the Tokyo result as PR Sreejesh helped India beat Great Britain 4-2 in the penalty shootout.

India will take on Germany in the semis and a win here would guarantee a medal. India will be without their first rusher Amit Rohidas but the men in blue will take inspiration from their past to go closer to their dream.

Athletics – Men’s Javelin Throw – Neeraj Chopra & Kishore Jena (3:20 pm and 1:50 pm respectively)
