Top five highest paid footballers in Ligue 1

All these stars play for the same club in the French top flight.
The Ligue 1 houses plenty of extremely talented players. While the league is known for developing young talents, there are quite a few world class players in the competition as well. Expectedly, majority of these talents are paid high wages. Some of the highest paid footballers in the Ligue 1 are also considered world beaters.
Interestingly, some of the highest paid players in Ligue 1 all play for Paris Saint-Germain. The outfit have recently dominated the domestic competitions due to huge investment from their owners. They have been able to break transfer records and have one of the most valuable squads in Europe.

5. Angel Di Maria - €13.2m

Angel Di Maria is the fifth highest earning player in the league, earning €13.2m per year. The Argentine signed for PSG in 2015 for a €63m fee from Manchester United.
The former Real Madrid forward is still a vital part of the squad and is rumored to be close to signing a year's contract extension. The 33-year-old has featured for PSG a total of 251 times so far, scoring 88 goals and 104 assists.
4. Marquinhos - €14.4m

The Brazilian earns €14.4m for his services from the club. PSG signed the center-back as a 19-year-old for around €31.40m. Marquinhos has made over 313 appearances for the club since arriving from AS Roma.
The 27-year-old is one of Europe’s most valuable players. His market value currently stands at €70m due to his abilities.
3. Marco Verratti - €14.4m

Marco Veratti is tied in terms of wages with Marquinhos, as he also earns €14.4m per year to represent the club. The Italian has been instrumental as a midfielder in the recent years. He has become adept at keeping the ball moving and has developed a telepathic connection with the attacking wingers.
The 28-year-old is in his ninth year at the club. His current contract runs until 2024. Verratti has won a total of seven league titles with PSG and will add more to the tally in seasons to come.
2. Kylian Mbappé - €25.1m

Kylian Mbappe is one of the biggest prospects in the world at the moment. The Frenchman was signed in the second-most expensive transfer in the world, costing around €145m.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner earns a total €25.1m per year from PSG. The 22-year-old has already scored over 120 goals for the French outfit in merely 160 games.

The Brazil international is the highest earning player in the Ligue 1 and at Paris Saint-Germain. Neymar was signed from FC Barcelona in 2017 for a world-record transfer fee of €222m. After his recent contract renewal with the French giants, he will now earn a staggering €30m per year for his exceptional services.
