This is second world Cup of the season

After its first Rifle/Pistol stage at Cairo, Egypt, the ISSF World Cup 2024 is moving to Rabat for its first leg in Shotgun events, which is scheduled in Rabat, Morocco. The skeet and trap events will take place from February 6 to February 12, 2024, at the Club Les Chênes de Tir et de Loisirs, located 18.5-km from the Moroccan capital.

India will be represented by a 16-member contingent at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun 2024 in Rabat. Olympic quota holders, like Anant Jeet Singh Naruka, Bhowneesh Mendiratta, Raiza Dhillon, and Rajeshwari Kumari, will be leading the Indian squad at the first ISSF World Cup stage of the 2024 season.

India at ISSF World Cup Shotgun 2024 Rabat

Following their successful outing at the recently held Asian Olympic Qualifiers 2024 in Kuwait, an Asian Games 2022 silver medalist Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Raiza Dhillon will look to continue their impressive form in the first Shotgun World Cup. In the Olympic qualifiers, both earned an Olympic quota for India after bagging the silver medal in their respective events.

On the other hand, a national record holder Ganemat Sekhon, who narrowly missed the podium with a fourth-place finish in Kuwait, will aim to build some confidence for the crucial year ahead as the Paris Olympics 2024 are scheduled later this year.

Meanwhile, the trap shooters will also look to regain their form at the ISSF World Cup Shotgun Rabat 2024 as they set their sights on the Paris Olympics 2024. It is worth noting that India has won a total of 4 quota places in shotgun events (one each in men’s and women’s events) in trap and skeet shooting.

The selection of the athletes for Paris 2024 will be determined by their performance in the national trials for the Summer Games, conducted by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).

At the ISSF World Cup 2023 in Shotgun, India finished 12th overall in the medal tally, with a gold, a silver, and three bronze medals. The USA topped the medal table with 19 medals, followed by Italy with 16 medals. The Indian shooters will look to better their performance this time around and finish higher in this edition.
