India has already grabbed 20 Paris Olympic quota places in shooting.

The stakes are high as the ISSF Shotgun Olympic Qualifiers 2024 gets underway on 23rd April in Doha, Qatar. A contingent of 12 Indian shooters will be vying for the remaining quotas up for grabs for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

India has already secured 20 quota places across rifle, pistol and shotgun events, with four coming in the shotgun discipline – one each in men’s trap, women’s trap, men’s skeet and women’s skeet.

The top two shooters in each event at the championship, with a maximum of one per country, will book their Paris tickets provided their nation has not already maxed out its allocation. This makes the competition intense, with limited spots remaining.

Leading India’s charge will be Tokyo Olympians like Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Angadvir Singh Bajwa in men’s skeet, alongside the experienced Vivaan Kapoor, Zoravar Singh Sandhu and Prithviraj Tondaiman in men’s trap. The women’s skeet and trap events see familiar names like Ganemat Sekhon, Shreyasi Singh, Manisha Keer and Rajeshwari Kumari carrying India’s hopes.

Irrespective of the Doha outcome, India will be sending its largest Olympic shooting contingent to Paris Olympics, eclipsing the 15 athletes from Tokyo 2020. The shotgun shooters have a golden opportunity to add to that tally over the coming week in Qatar.

The stage is set for a shotgun shooting showdown in Doha as quotas and Olympic dreams are on the line. India’s best will leave no stone unturned in their quest for Paris glory.
