The Australian Open 2023 action now shifts to day 4 with fourth seed Novak Djokovic set to take on Couacaud in round 3 in men's singles. Earlier on day 3, top seed and defending champion Rafael Nadal lost to Mackenzie McDonald of the USA in straight sets. The Spaniard did not look comfortable throughout the match and the American took full advantage winning the match comfortably.
Eighth-seed pair Sania Mirza and Anna Danilina will be playing the opening encounter (round of 64). Wild Card entrants Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni will be playing their debut match together in the men’s doubles.
