The Day 4 of the Australian Open 2023 saw a number of seeded players bow out in the men’s singles section. Second seed Casper Ruud lost to Jenson Brooksby, while eighth seed Taylor Fritz was knocked out by local crowd favourite Alexie Popyrin in the second round. Among the top seeds, Stefanos Tsitsipas will be in action on Australian Open 2023 day 5 in singles after combining with brother Petros to win the opening encounter in the doubles section. In regards to Indians, it wasn’t a good day either as three players (two pairs) exited the tournament losing in the first round after putting up a good fight. Sania Mirza was the lone Indian to win and advance on day 4 of the tournament. She and partner Anna Danilina progressed to the second round in the women’s doubles with a straight-sets win over Dalma Galfi/Bernarda Pera.
