Hello and welcome to the live blog for the Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Novak Djokovic clash in Australian Open 2023 Men's Singles final at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne Park.

Novak Djokovic vs Stefanos Tsitsipas meet in the Australian Open 2023 men's singles final on January 29 (Sunday). Djokovic is one win away from claiming his 10th Australian Open crown, with only Tsitsipas standing in his way of a record-equaling 22nd Grand Slam title.

Only Rafael Nadal has won more major titles in men's singles than the mighty Serbian, who now has an opportunity to match the Spaniard's Open Era record of 22 Grand Slam victories. Djokovic, nine-time Australian Open champion, eased through Tommy Paul in the 2023 Australian Open semi-final to set up a final meeting with Stefanos Tsitsipas at Melbourne Park.

The Serb overcame a wobble in the first set and went on to defeat the American 7-5, 6-1, 6-2. A former World No. 1, Djokovic is on a 26-match winning streak at Melbourne Park and appears to be in command. He has won 11 sets in a row while conceding only 27 games and is currently one win away from tying Rafael Nadal's record-extending 22nd Major overall.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, on the other side, will attempt to fulfil a 17-year-old dream when he faces Novak Djokovic for the Australian Open title on Sunday. The champion will also become the new World No. 1, with either Tsitsipas or Djokovic dethroning US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz.

If it is Tsitsipas, he will become Greece's first grand slam champion, having already become the first player from his country to reach a Grand Slam final, when it made it to the summit clash at Roland Garros in 2021, where he led Djokovic by two sets but lost.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Novak Djokovic preview

Djokovic has played top-tier tennis in recent months, winning 30 of 32 matches. He began his return to the Australian Open with a competent win over Roberto Carballes Baena and continued to dominate in the following rounds. In reaching his 10th Major final, the former World No. 1 outwitted Enzo Couacaud, Grigor Dimitrov, Alex De Minaur, Andre Rublev, and Tommy Paul. In the final four, he defeated American Paul in straight sets, 7-5, 6-1, 6-2.

Tsitsipas, like Djokovic, is unbeaten in 2023 and has exhibited a confidence that he will need to sustain if he is to do what no one has done before and defeat the Serbian in an Australian Open final. In the first three rounds, he easily defeated his opponents in straight sets. In the following rounds, he outlasted Jannik Sinner, Jiri Lehecka, and Karen Khachanov. To reach his first-ever final in Melbourne, the third seed overcame Russian Khachanov in four sets, 7-6 (2), 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3.

Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Novak Djokovic Prediction

On Sunday, two players who are yet to taste a defeat in 2023 will stake their claim for the crown in the 2023 men’s singles Australian Open final. Tsisipas will not want to linger on their previous confrontations, since Djokovic has won 10 of their 12 meetings, including the last nine. But the majority of them have been close, and Tsitsipas has the tools to worry the nine-time champion.

Djokovic, barring a hamstring flare-up, appears fitter than ever. His form this fortnight has been generally excellent. The former World No. 1 will likely be the favourite to win, as he continues to raise the bar with his excellent ATP performance.
