Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from Toronto Masters due to fatigue

Serbian lost an intense Wimbledon final to Carlos Alcaraz a few day's back
Organizers on Sunday announced that, 23-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic will be skipping the upcoming Canadian Masters in Toronto due to fatigue. The decision comes after the 36-year-old Serbian's intense five-set Wimbledon final against Spain's world number one, Carlos Alcaraz, just a week ago.
"I have always enjoyed my time in Canada but after speaking with my team we believe this is the right decision to take "stated Novak Djokovic, a four-time champion of the tournament.
Djokovic has an impressive record in Canada's ATP Masters 1000 event having secured victory four times with a remarkable 37-7 overall record. However, the last time he participated in the tournament was back in 2018. This year, his focus will be on rest and recovery as he takes a break from the Canadian Masters to manage his fatigue.
The ATP 1000 event is scheduled to take place from August 7th to 13th. In his absence, Wimbledon quarter-finalist American Christopher Eubanks will step in to compete in the main draw.
Djokovic, a revered icon in the realm of tennis boasts an exceptional record of 23 Grand Slam men's singles titles with a remarkable ten of them being Australian Open victories. In total, he has clinched an impressive 94 singles titles comprising an unmatched 67 Big Titles encompassing his 23 majors, an unparalleled 38 Masters titles and an equal-record six year-end championships. His decision to withdraw from the Toronto ATP event comes as a significant setback to the tournament, considering his immense popularity within the sport.
The decision for Novak Djokovic to withdraw from the National Bank Open Presented by Rogers was linked to fatigue, a critical factor that can profoundly influence an athlete's performance. For athletes, particularly those competing at elite levels, maintaining peak physical and mental condition is of utmost importance.
Overexertion and insufficient rest can give rise to fatigue which not only hampers performance but also elevates the likelihood of sustaining injuries. Hence, it remains vital for athletes to prioritize proper rest and recovery to safeguard their well-being and excel in their sporting endeavors.
