Welcome to the Khel Now's live blog for Tallon Griekspoor/Bart Stevens vs Rohan Bopanna/Matthew Ebden men's doubles quarter-finals match in Wimbledon 2023.

Sixth seeded Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden will eye a place in the Wimbledon 2023 semi-finals when they take on unseeded Dutch pair Tallon Griekspoor and Bart Stevens in men's doubles quarter-finals on July 12 (Wednesday). The match will be played on Court 12 from 7:30 PM IST.

Bopanna/Ebden advanced to the Wimbledon quarter-finals with a thrilling win over David Pel/Reese Stalder yesterday in which they saved four match points before sealing the win via tie-breakers. The Indo-Aussie pair won the last 16 tie 7-5, 4-6, 7-6(5) in two hours and 19 minutes.

Bopanna, ranked number 12 in the ATP rankings, and his WR-16 partner Matt Ebden started well and took the first set rather comfortably. However, the Dutch-US duo David Pel and Reese Stalder fought their way back in the second set and took the game into the decider.

The third and deciding set was delayed for over an hour due to rain. Pel/Stalder were in cruise control when play resumed and Bopanna/Ebden had to save three match points before forcing a tie-breaker. In the tie-break, Pel/Stalder raced ahead to a 3-1 lead but Bopanna and Ebden won seven straight points to seal the match in their favour.

Earlier, the pair beat another unseeded Argentine opponents Guillermo Duran and Tomas Etcheverry in the opening round. They won 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 in a thrilling clash.

Bopanna is the only remaining Indian at Wimbledon 2023. Although he has reached the last 16 in men's doubles, the 43-year-old and mixed doubles partner Gabriela Dabrowski were knocked out from the first round.

Fellow men's doubles pair Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni also exited from the Grand Slam event after an opening round exit. Similarly, N Sriram Balaji and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan also bowed out after opening round defeat. In the women's section, Ankita Raina from India took part in the qualifiers where she was beaten.
