Novak Djokovic, the legendary tennis player, responded to Virat Kohli’s remarkable performance against New Zealand in the 2023 ODI World Cup match by swiftly acknowledging Kohli’s achievement and expressing his commendation on Instagram.

Djokovic praised Kohli for making history and delivering another match-defining innings in a high-pressure game. Sharing his sentiments on his official Instagram story, Djokovic wrote, “Congratulations Virat. Truly legendary.”

Novak Djokovic extended his congratulations to Indian batsman Virat Kohli for achieving a historic milestone by securing his 50th ODI century against New Zealand in the 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup.

Heading into the semifinals on November 15, Kohli shared the record of 49 ODI centuries with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Entering the fray in the ninth over following the skipper’s dismissal, Virat Kohli adopted a watchful approach by taking the necessary time to assess the playing conditions. Demonstrating strategic play, Kohli adeptly rotated the strike and forged partnerships with Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer and guiding the Indian team towards a formidable total.

Upon reaching his half-century, Kohli swiftly shifted gears, ultimately achieving a remarkable milestone by securing his 50th ODI century. In a grand celebration, he acknowledged the applause from Sachin Tendulkar, who was present in the stands and signaled a poignant moment of breaking the cricketing legend’s record.

India amassed a total of 397/4 in their 50 overs which was propelled by outstanding centuries from both Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer.

In total, the Indian cricketer now boasts an impressive tally of 80 centuries which comprises 29 in the Test format and one in T20s. The only individual surpassing this remarkable feat is Sachin Tendulkar who holds a record of 100 centuries to his name.
