Sumit Nagal to represent Falcons in second edition of World Tennis League

India’s number one men’s singles tennis player, Sumit Nagal, is scheduled to take part in the second edition of World Tennis League in Abu Dhabi from December 21st-24th, 2023. Several top ranked players from both the men’s and women’s circuit are set to take part in the exhibition event.
A total of four teams – Eagles, Falcons, Hawks, Kites will be taking part in the competition with each team comprising of two men’s and women’s players. World No.1 in singles Iga Swiatek is part of the Hawks squad and in the men’s section Daniil Medvedev is the highest ranked is part of the Eagles squad.
This is a good opportunity for Sumit Nagal who will be representing Falcons in the second edition. He started the year outside top 500 but showed consistency throughout the season and has dropped below to top 150. The Indian is set to start the new season at the Canberra Challenger and will subsequently play in the qualifiers of Australian Open.

The season 2 is scheduled to be played in Etihad Arena, Abu Dhabi. Inaugural edition last year saw the participation of Sania Mirza. She was part of the Kites squad which lost in the final to Hawks. Apart from Mirza, current world no.1 Novak Djokovic was part of the Falcons side which finished on the bottom of the points tally.
