The pair also reached the finals and semifinals at other events, namely, ATP Masters 1000 Madrid (Finals), Wimbledon (semifinals), US Open (Finals), ATP Masters 1000 Shanghai (Finals), ATP Masters 1000 Paris (Finals), and Nitto ATP Finals (Semifinals).

As a team, James Duckworth and Marc Polmans reached the quarterfinals at the 2020 Australian Open – their best performance to date. Duckworth’s injury-prone career that led to a handful of surgeries and varying doubles partners, including Polmans, his partner for the 2020, 2021 and 2022 Australian Open, haven’t helped the team’s fortunes.

Bopanna and Ebden are unlikely to face a serious challenge until they reach the semifinals, where they are likely to run into familiar foes Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury.

Ram and Salisbury lead the head-to-head against Bopanna and Ebden, 2-0. The two teams recently clashed at the Adelaide Open, with the former winning in three sets.
