Nadal was seen in bit of discomfort in quarterfinal clash against Jordan Thompson

The tennis world is abuzz with concern and speculation following Rafael Nadal’s recent admission of uncertainty about his participation in the upcoming Australian Open. The 22-time Grand Slam champion’s comments came on the heels of a grueling defeat at the Brisbane International against Jordan Thompson.

Twitter has been flooded with reactions from fans and fellow players alike, expressing their hopes for Nadal’s speedy recovery. The potential absence of the Spanish legend from the tournament is seen as a significant loss, and many are anxiously awaiting updates on his condition.

Nadal’s run in Queensland ended abruptly after a quarter-final defeat to Thompson. The Spanish tennis legend admitted that after such a lengthy period on the sidelines, another setback cannot be ruled out. “I need to see how I wake up tomorrow morning,” Nadal told reporters after his match against Thompson, a statement that sent ripples of concern through the Twitterverse.

Despite the worrying scenes during the decisive third set against Thompson, where Nadal needed a medical time-out at 1-4 down to receive treatment on his upper left leg, the 37-year-old is confident that the problem is not as serious as the injury which forced him out for almost a year. This assurance, however, has done little to quell the concerns of fans on Twitter, who continue to express their worries and well-wishes for the tennis star.

Reflecting on the match as a whole, Nadal was not too downbeat and paid tribute to Thompson for a gutsy display.

As the Australian Open approaches, the Twitter community continues to rally behind Nadal, hoping for his speedy recovery. His potential absence from the tournament would indeed be a significant loss.

However, as Nadal himself stated, “It’s a beginning, and I haven’t played in a tournament for such a long time. I hope to have the chance to be practicing next week and to play in Melbourne at the Australian Open. Honestly, I am not 100% sure of anything now.” Only time will tell if the Spanish maestro will grace the courts of the Australian Open this year, and until then, Twitter waits with bated breath.
