The Brisbane International returns to the tennis calendar after a three-year break between 2020 and 2023. The 2019 edition of the Brisbane International saw Japanese player Kei Nishikori lift the men’s singles trophy, while Czech Karolina Pliskova won the women’s event. The Brisbane International 2024 will be serving as a warm-up event for the first Grand Slam this season, the Australian Open.
The Brisbane International is a WTA 500 and an ATP 250 event, with 48 women’s and 32 men’s in the fray. The competition boasts of a star-studded lineup, including Rafael Nadal, two-time winner Andy Murray, Naomi Osaka and Australian Open defending champion Aryna Sabalenka. Furthermore, the field includes top-20 players from the ATP and WTA tour, such as Holger Rune, Liudmila Samsonova, and Jelena Ostapenko. Grigor Dimitrov and Victoria Azarenka.
