The clay courts see more than just tennis action as real-life couples head to Roland-Garros and the City of Love.
The tennis court is yet another workplace and is unlikely to be immune to blossoming office romance. Interactions between tennis stars continue off-court, particularly when they take more than a professional interest in each other.
Now, with the tennis action unfolding in Paris – the widely accepted ‘City of Love,’ this is the perfect time to know more about the tennis couples turning up in Paris with more than just the Roland-Garros title in their sights.
Some of these lovestruck couples whom Cupid brought together and are at love-all in their relationship are:
Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya
Jannik Sinner and Anna Kalinskaya are the latest power couple in tennis. Italy’s top-ranked player and World No. 2 Jannik Sinner, currently searching for his first French Open title, has made public his relationship with Russian player Anna Kalinskaya. The secretive Sinner had been keeping their relationship secret all along.
They have also been spotted cheering each other on. Kalinskaya was in the stands for Sinner’s first round match against Christopher Eubanks, while the Italian returned the favour in his girlfriend’s opening round clash against Clara Burel.
Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur
The British-Australian couple of Katie Boulter and Alex de Minaur have been dating for a little over two years now. They began their liaison in March 2022 and like the Sinner-Kalinskaya pair, have gone to great lengths to keep their relationship from prying eyes. Alex de Minaur made the top 10 in January,
World No. 11 de Minaur and World No. 28 Boulter won titles at Acapulco and San Diego in the 2024 season in the same weekend in March – events on the ATP and WTA 500 calendars.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa
A year after Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa got together, it seemed their whirlwind romance was over after Badosa announced earlier in May that their relationship had ended.
Now, three weeks after their breakup, the couple have rekindled their romance ahead of the French Open. One could perhaps attribute it to the Paris effect. Badosa and Tsitsipas, having been given wildcards, will also turn up for the mixed doubles draw.
Alexander Shevchenko and Anastasia Potapova
The love story of Alexander Shevchenko and Anastasia Potapova, relative newlyweds, continues.
Earlier this month, married couple Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko spent time recreating an iconic scene from the movie “Roman Holiday” in the Italian capital. They recreated the photo of evergreen stars Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. The scene pictured the two Russians astride a vintage Vespa and wearing 1950s wardrobe to boot.
After nearly a year of dating, the couple tied the knot in December 2023. Their nuptials capped off a memorable professional year for both that saw them make their top 50 debut in the WTA and ATP rankings.
Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac
Katerina Siniakova and Tomas Machac, both hailing from the Czech Republic, have been a couple since the start of the 2021 season. The pair are now engaged.
Siniakova is an accomplished doubles player who lifted the title at Roland-Garros in 2018 and 2021 – both times with fellow Czech Barbora Krejcikova. She is also a former doubles World No. 1.
Machac impressed by reaching the last eight in Miami this season, his first Masters 1000 quarter-final appearance. During the Miami Masters, he defeated Andrey Rublev and Andy Murray back-to-back. His semi-final run in the event propelled the 23-year-old Machac to a career-high ranking of World No. 43.
Siniakova is through to the French Open second round with a 7-5, 7-6 (3) win over Hungarian Dalmi Galfi. Likewise, Machac, too, booked a spot in the second round, winning 7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-3 against Nuno Borges.
