Rafael Nadal returns to clay at Barcelona after two-year hiatus.

The legendary Rafael Nadal makes his much-awaited return to the Barcelona Open 2024 after a two-year hiatus. The 12-time champion is set to grace the iconic clay courts of the Real Club de Tenis Barcelona, reigniting his quest for an unprecedented 13th title.

The qualifying rounds have wrapped up, and the main draws commencing on April 15 promise an epic showdown among the world’s tennis elite. While the absence of two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz due to injury is a letdown, Nadal’s comeback is a plus.

Nadal, whose last appearance on the Barcelona clay was his 2021 triumph, will face Flavio Cobolli in the first round, reigniting his love affair with this tournament he has dominated like no other.

With Alcaraz sidelined, Russia’s Andrey Rublev enters as the top seed, determined to break his winless streak this year after disappointing runs at Indian Wells, Miami, and Monte Carlo. Alongside Rublev, a stellar lineup featuring Casper Ruud, Alex de Minaur, and three-time Barcelona finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas will battle for glory.
