Carlos Alcaraz becomes third singles player to qualify for ATP Finals 2024

Carlos Alcaraz has become the third singles player to qualify for the ATP Finals 2024. He will be featuring in the competition for the second time but has qualified for the third season in a row. Alcaraz had first qualified for ATP Finals in 2022 but could not compete due to an abdominal injury. He was then featured in ATP Finals 2023 and lost in the semi-finals to Novak Djokovic.
The world No #3 has 6,690 points and has enjoyed a spectacular season with two grand slam trophies. He recorded successive wins at the French Open and Wimbledon. Alcaraz also secured silver in the Paris Olympics 2024. The Spaniard has been capturing the big titles one by one and will now set his sights on ATP Finals 2024.
The season ending championship witnesses the battle between the top eight players of the season. It will be held in Turin as the top players will be seen in action in the hardcourts of Inalpi Arena, Torino. In the race to Nitto ATP Finals 2024, Alcaraz has 6010 points and will look to better his track record in the event which will commence in November.

Who are the singles players to have qualified for ATP Finals 2024 so far?
The first singles player to have qualified for ATP Finals 2024 was Jannik Sinner. He had made the cut in August after reaching the quarter-finals of Canadian Open 2024. The Italian made his debut in the event in 2021 after competing as an alternate. In the 2023 edition, Sinner went on to reach the finals while losing to Djokovic. The 2024 edition will see Sinner compete in the event for the third time.
The second singles player to qualify for Nitto ATP Finals 2024 was Alexander Zverev. He qualified for the season ending championship after reaching the quarter-finals of US Open 2024. Zverev will be competing for the seventh time and made his debut in 2017. The German has won the titles in 2018 and 2021.
Five spots remain in the singles of Nitto ATP Finals 2024 as the next few weeks will confirm the full list of players. Daniil Medvedev, Taylor Fritz, Casper Ruud, Andrey Rublev and Alex de Minaur are next in line to qualify for the event. Meanwhile Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov will look in to move closer towards qualification.
