Valentin Vacherot’s sensational victory saw him storm into the top-40 ATP rankings.

Valentin Vacherot’s fairy-tale triumph at the Shanghai Masters 2025 propelled him from world No. 204 to No. 40, marking one of the most extraordinary ranking leaps in ATP history. The Monegasque became the lowest ever ranked ATP player to lift a ATP-1000 Masters trophy.

Similarly, Arthur Rinderknech’s runner-up finish skyrocketed his ranking, climbing 26 points to become the World No. 28, reflecting his breakout performance.

Jannik Sinner failed to defend his title, as fatigue got the better of the Italian. As a result, he lost several points and dropped to 10,000, extending the gap between him and Carlos Alcaraz at the top. Depsite missing the tournament, the Spaniard has all but confirmed his reign at the top for the remainder of the 2025 season.

Djokovic meanwhile, was hailed as the favorite to clinch his fifth Shanghai crown. fell to the eventual champion in the semi-finals and subsequently dropped to #5.

Jack Draper, who has already announced that his season is over, falls to #9 ranking. Daniil Medvedev’s improved performance helped him gain four spots on the ATP charts, while Tommy Paul and Jakub Mensik both dropped by three places to #18 and 19 respectively.
