Novak Djokovic vs Jiri Lehecka prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: Australian Open 2025

Djokovic is looking for a record 25th Grand Slam Major.
Novak Djokovic is currently vying for several records at the Australian Open 2025. Only recently, in his second round, the 37-year-old surpassed Roger Federer to become the player with most number of Grand Slam matches in tennis history. In the pursuit of a 25th Grand Slam and 100th career title, the Serbian was seeking a flawless game after two stumbles in his first couple of rounds.
The 37-year-old must have gained immense confidence and relief after crushing Tomas Machac in the third round in straight sets. The 10-time Australian Open winner played like a champion from the outset, not allowing his opponent to have a sniff.
While this victory brings the Serbian closer to his target, Djokovic will be wary of the challenges ahead as he faces several skilled, talented and in-form players in the matches to follow.

Venue: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne

Preview
Djokovic dropped a set against Nishesh Basavareddy and Jaime Faria in the first two rounds but managed to scrape home. However, these two battles against far more inferior players raised questions on the Serbian’s current form and his ability to go the distance.
However, Djokovic came out all guns blazing against 25th seed Tomas Machac, beating him in straight sets. He will now battle against Jiri Lehecka, who recently won the Brisbane International. This clash promises to be a spectacle as Lehecka is one of the more in-form players, currently seeded 29.
Jiri Lehecka eliminated Yoshihito Nishioka and Hugo Gaston in the first two rounds. He took down the Japanese in an intense four-setter, and dominated the Frenchman in the first couple of sets before receiving a walkover. In his third round against Benjamin Bonzi, he brushed asidehis opponent in straight sets.
Having dominated the competition up till now, the Czech will face his biggest test against 10-time AO winner at the Rod Laver Arena. Lehecka had advanced to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open in 2023, and will have to pull off a stunning upset, if he were to repeat his heroics.

Match prediction
Unlike his previous encounters, Djokovic must be switched on from game one if he wishes to advance to the quarterfinals. Against an in-form Jiri Lehecka, who has only recently won a title and played a QF in Melbourne Park before, the Serbian must produce his best tennis to avoid an upset.
However, the former world number one was able to show glimpses of his usual best against Machac in the third round and if he can keep up the intensity and consistency in the fourth round, we could potentially have the highly awaited Carlos Alcaraz vs Novak Djokovic contest on the cards once again.
Djokovic in full force will be a force to reckon with and hence, should be all guns blazing on Saturday, even the in-form Czech might be left with too much work to do. Jiri Lehecka will hope to achieve the biggest triumph of his career but a determined Djokovic will aim to keep his dream of a 25th Grand Slam alive.
Result: Novak Djokovic to win in four sets.
