Brisbane International 2025: All you need to know about prize money
Some of the biggest stars will compete at the Brisbane International 2025 tournament.
The Brisbane International established in 2009, is a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is a WTA 500 tournament and ATP 250 tournament, owned by Tennis Australia, held annually in January at the Queensland Tennis Centre just before the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, the Australian Open.
The tournament returned last season, much to the delight of the locals. It’s extremely popular with fans in the Brisbane area, who saw the last glimpse of Rafael Nadal during his farewell season on tour. Aryna Sabalenka was beaten by Elena Rybakina last year while Grigor Dimitrov defeated Holger Rune to win the ATP 250 competition.

The Brisbane International 2025 tournament will witness some of the biggest stars compete including Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka. However several players such as Iga Swiatek, Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz decided to represent their country at the United Cup.
Top-seeded Novak Djokovic, now ranked world number seven, has not competed since reaching the Shanghai Masters final in October. The Paris Olympic gold medallist and 24-time Grand Slam champion is playing in Brisbane for the first time since 2009.
Nick Kyrgios, who has played only one singles tour match in the last two years due to knee, foot and wrist injuries, is slated to partner Djokovic in the men’s doubles category. Meanwhile, World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka will lead ten Top 20 players at the WTA 500 Brisbane International.
Breakdown of Brisbane International 2025 Prize Money
For 2025, the total prize money for the ATP is $730,00, a 10.3% increase from 2024. The men’s champion will receive $96,985, a slight 1.7% rise compared to what Grigor Dimitrov received when he won the title twelve months ago. The runner-up will pick up $56,580, up 1.6% vs 2024,
Some earlier rounds even see small decreases compared to twelve months ago; for example, those who bow out in round 1 will receive -0.9% less. It’s negligible in percentage but a noticeable pay cut, given inflation.
The total prize money for the WTA event is significantly larger at $1,520,600, albeit a decrease of -12.45% from 2024. The women’s champion will receive over double the men’s, with $192,475, down 12.5% from 2024.
