Carlos Alcaraz will next be in action at the Laver Cup 2025.

Fresh off his thrilling US Open 2025 victory, newly crowned ATP World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz is already back on the practice courts.

This was after the 22-year-old Spaniard chose to withdraw from Spain’s Davis Cup 2025 qualifiers tie against Denmark, opting to prioritize rest and recovery.

The Davis Cup matches were scheduled for September 13 and 14, but Alcaraz, who defeated Jannik Sinner in a blockbuster US Open final to reclaim the top ranking last week, was spotted training at the courts of the Carlos Alcaraz Academy in his hometown of Murcia.

According to reports, Alcaraz currently splits his time training between two training bases. He often trains at the Alcaraz academy in his hometown of Murcia, run by his father.

He also takes practise at Juan Carlos Ferrero’s academy in Alicante, where he works closely with the former World No. 1 and his long-time coach.

After skipping the Davis Cup match, Alcaraz’s next major appearance will be at the Laver Cup in San Francisco, which begins on September 19, where he will represent Team Europe in the high-profile men’s team tennis competition.

The Spaniard will be joining a star-studded squad of Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, Jakub Mensik, and Flavio Cobolli led by captain Noah Yannick.

Team Europe will face a formidable Team World, captained by Andre Agassi, which includes players like Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Reilly Opelka, Francisco Cerundolo, Alex Michelsen and Reilly Opelka.

The season’s grand finale is supposed to be the ATP Finals in Turin (November 9–16), where Alcaraz has already secured his spot.

He became the first player to qualify for the elite year-end tournament back in July, and after his US Open victorious run, Alcaraz now stands on the verge to finish the year as World No. 1.
