Daniil Medvedev vs Rafael Jodar live streaming, TV channel, where & how to watch: Shanghai Masters 2026
This will be the first time these two players clash against each other
Former champion and fifth seed Daniil Medvedev will face Rafael Jodar in the men’s singles semi-finals at the Shanghai Masters 2026 on Saturday. Medvedev will look to continue his fine run of form in China, having clinched the title in Hangzhou and reached the semis in China Open.
The 30-year-old has been in strong form and arrives after beating Tommy Paul 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 in the quarters to reach his third Shanghai semi-final. The Russian is the only former champion left in the draw after winning the title in 2019.
Medvedev won his third title of the season in Hangzhou last month and has an 11-1 record since arriving in China, which also includes a semi-final in Beijing.
He is chasing a seventh Masters 1000 title, which would be his first since Rome in 2023. The stakes go beyond the trophy as the victory moved him to sixth in the Race to Turin with 3,420 points.
The highly impressive Rafael Jodar has been one of the stories of the week, in his Shanghai debut. He beat Casper Ruud to become the youngest semi-finalist in the tournament’s history, and it was his fourth straight comeback from a set down.
The two have never met, which adds to the intrigue. Medvedev’s experience and big serving have been decisive in his best matches, and he hit 16 aces against Paul. But he double-faulted twice in a key game against Paul, and Jodar has shown he will keep fighting when behind.
The Russian is the clear favourite but Jodar holds the tools to produce an upset and put himself in the reckoning for a place in the year-end Finals.
