Emma Raducanu, Carlos Alcaraz warm-up at Cincinnati ahead of US Open mixed doubles pairing

Both Emma Raducanu and Caros Alcaraz hit the courts in Ohio ahead of Cincinnati Open 2025

After a disappointing early exit from the Canadian Open 2025, British No. 1 Emma Raducanu has arrived in Ohio to begin her hard-court preparations at the Lindner Family Tennis Center ahead of the Cincinnati Open, which kicks off on August 7 and concludes on August 18, just a week before US Open 2025.

The 22-year-old will be partnering World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz in the mixed doubles event at the final Grand Slam of the year.

Ahead of that, and as the last stop before the Flushing Meadows action begins, both Raducanu and Alcaraz have been seen practicing on the hard courts of Cincinnati Open.

According to reports, Raducanu has also added a key figure to her team this time. Rafael Nadal’s former coach, Francis Roig, has joined her camp on a full-time basis in preparation for the Queens battle.

Following her third-round exit at Wimbledon 2025, Raducanu participated in two events in Washington and her birth place Toronto, and both of them didn’t go as expected.

She reached the semi-finals at the Washington Open, where she lost to A. Kalinskaya (4–6, 3–6), and suffered a round-of-32 defeat at the Canadian Open, losing to A. Anisimova (2–6, 1–6).

The US Open, however, remains particularly special for Raducanu. It was there, in 2021, that she won her maiden and only Grand Slam title of career so far.

At just 18 years old and ranked 150th in the world, Raducanu made history by becoming the first qualifier, male or female, to win a Grand Slam, winning 10 straight matches without dropping a set.
