After overcoming a marathon five setter against fellow American, Ben Shelton, Tiafoe outlasted the Australian and Bulgarian in four sets in subsequent battles, much to the delight of the fans.

One of these two Americans are set to rewrite history by becoming the first male American to advance to the finals of a Grand Slam after a period of 15 years. Andy Roddick was the last male American to reach a Grand Slam final before losing to Roger Federer in the 2009 Wimbledon finale.
