Carlos Alcaraz became the seventh Spanish player to win the French Open in the Open Era.
Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Iga Swiatek, and several other famous athletes have congratulated Carlos Alcaraz for his maiden French Open title.
Carlos Alcaraz outclassed Germany’s Alexander Zverev 6-3, 2-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 in the final of the French Open 2024 to win his first Roland Garros title. Last year, he was eliminated by Novak Djokovic in the semifinals after the Spaniard was suffering from cramps in his hamstrings.
During this year’s final, the 21-year-old was suffering from similar issues and had to take a four-minute medical timeout during the fourth set. However, despite all the difficulties, Alcaraz managed to win his first clay-court Grand Slam.
