The Halle Open serves as a warm-up tournament for the Wimbledon Championships.

The tennis caravan will now move to grass court action after the completion of an exhilarating clay court season. The Halle Open 2024, also known as The Terra Wortmann Open, one of eight grass-court events on the calendar will kickstart on 17th June. It is an ATP 500 series event where the world’s top players will lock horns and try to start the grass season on a high note.

Few big names like Carlos Alcaraz, Alex di Minaur & Casper Ruud have decided to skip the tournament while Novak Djokovic will be missing out due to injury.

All eyes will be set on Janik Sinner, who will be playing his first tournament after being ranked as the world’s number-one player. He will hope to add another title in one of his most successful seasons so far. His journey to the title won’t be a cakewalk though, as he may face Stefanos Tsitispas in the quarterfinals, and Daniil Medvedev or Alexander Bublik in the semis. His potential final opponents can be Hubert Hurkacz, Matteo Berretini, Andrey Rublev or Alexander Zverev.

French Open 2024 runner-up Alexander Zverev is seeded number #2 in the absence of Novak Djokovic & Carlos Alcaraz. He will try to continue his good form from clay court to grass court and will look to win his second title in the 2024 season.

Daniil Medvedev, having a lukewarm 2024 season is seeded third. He will be eyeing his first title of this year. Defending champion Alexander Bublik is seeded seventh and this can prove to be the turn-around tournament of the season for him.

One of the players to watch out for in this tournament is Matteo Berretini who has shown good form after returning from injury. Berretini has always excelled on grass court and it will be interesting to see how he performs against the big guns in this tournament. The big-serving and booming forehand-hitting Italian may face Andre Rublev in the round of 16.
