Iga Swiatek vs Aryna Sabalenka head-to-head record, last 5 meetings

They are the top two WTA players from the current generation.
When they last met, Aryna Sabalenka halted Iga Swiatek’s 26-match win streak at the French Open to make her maiden final at Roland Garros. Sabalenka won the semi-final meeting 7-6(1), 4-6, 6-0 to stop Iga Swiatek from becoming the first woman to lift four consecutive Championships in Paris in the Open Era.
They have consistently dominated the sport, particularly in the rankings. It has been a case of cat and mouse between the duo, with Sabalenka succeeding in passing Swiatek to become the new World No. #1 in late 2024.
The duo has completely different strengths. While Swiatek loves playing on clay and slow surfaces, Sabalenka has found the majority of her success on hard courts. The Pole has dominated the French Open and has become a contender for the ‘Queen of Clay’ title, having already won four times at the Roland Garros.
In addition to the four Grand Slam titles in Paris, the former World No. #1 also has a US Open title to her name. However, her brilliant record on clay, coincides with disappointments on grass and hard courts, as the Pole is yet to replicate her success on these surfaces.
Sabalenka, has dominated Australian Open and US Open, having won a total of three Grand Slams in her career, and finished as a runner-up twice at both these Slams. Similar to Swiatek, the Belarusian would be eager to better her record on clay, and in the Middle East where she hasn’t been able to do justice to her talent, despite making long runs in various events.

The Swiatek vs Sabalenka rivalry is an interesting one. The pair first met back in 2021 at the WTA Finals with the Belarusian winning the encounter. However, the Pole avenged that loss in style, beating her arch nemesis comprehensively in the next four encounters, which included a US Open semi-final triumph. In a rematch of 2021 WTA finals, Sabalenka finally broke the Pole’s winning streak, in a three-set victory
Historically, Swiatek has held a significant edge over her rival, yet every encounter between the two delivers captivating, high-quality tennis. What sets this rivalry apart is their contrasting playing styles—Sabalenka thrives on raw power and aggression, while Swiatek excels with precision and defensive mastery.

Much like the Williams sisters once dominated women’s tennis, Swiatek and Sabalenka have carried that legacy forward since 2020, asserting their dominance at the top.
