Iga Swiatek vs Elena Rybakina prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: Cincinnati Open 2025

Iga Swiatek leads their head-to-head record.

Having already seen off World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina must now overcome another rival in Iga Swiatek for a first WTA 1000 final since April 2024.

The World No. 10 was at her vintage best in the quarter-final round, as she destroyed the defending champion Sabalenka in straight sets. In less than 90 minutes, the Kazakh made a statement victory, leaving the World No. 1 hapless on court.

Rybakina’s serving was top-notch, and her forehand-backhand return game proved to be flawless and at her ruthless best. On the other hand, the Belarusian seemed timid, unable to execute her first serves.

Several easy chances were missed, and the energy that Sabalenka usually exudes on court was missing as the former Wimbledon champion outclassed her in every department.

Rybakina ended her poor run of form historically in Cincinnati, reaching the final four for the first time. With this victory, she also moves up a place in the live race, improving her qualification chances for the year-end WTA finals.

Preview

World No. 3 Iga Swiatek became the first female to reach three consecutive semi-finals at Cincinnati. The Pole cruised past Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets, despite a bit of resistance from the Russian in the second set. Swiatek has not dropped a set all week, continuing from where she left off in London.

The six-time Grand Slam champion will now face a massive test in the semi-finals against a red-hot Elena Rybakina. Swiatek had defeated the Kazakh at the recently concluded Roland Garros fourth round in dramatic fashion.

After dropping the opening set 1-6, Rybakina seemed to be in control at the start of the second set as well. However, Swiatek turned things around to cap off a sensational victory. The Pole leads the overall h2h by a very narrow margin, but is currently enjoying a three-match winning streak against the Kazakh.

Rybakina is yet to overcome Swiatek in 2025, and on hard courts, the World No. 3 leads 4-2 against the ninth seed.

Match prediction

One of those matchups where there is no favourite. Both players enter with a 50-50 possibility of winning, with the outcome largely hinging on how they perform on the day. Rybakina exploded with her serve and powerful returns, and a handful of unforced errors allowed her to beat the top seed.

Iga Swiatek played her usual game of immense footwork and movement on court, along with her ever-improving serving. However, the Kazakh will look to do what she did against Swiatek in the opening set at Paris.

If Rybakina can dictate play and force Swiatek into reacting to her relentless power and ball-striking for sustained stretches, her chances of toppling another higher-seeded opponent rise significantly.

Should the Kazakh find and maintain her peak level, even Swiatek will be found wanting for answers. For the Pole, the key will be serving consistently and capitalizing on errors from Rybakina’s racquet.

Result: Elena Rybakina will win in straight sets.
