Iga Swiatek vs Maja Chwalinska live streaming, TV channel, where & how to watch: WTA Wuhan Open 2026
Swiatek won the sole encounter between them way back in Stockholm 2016
Two Polish friends meet for a place in the Wuhan Open 2026 final. Seventh seed Iga Swiatek will eye a first final appearance in Wuhan and her second in China when she clashes with compatriot and 16th seed Maja Chwalinska on Saturday.
Chwalinska reached the semi-finals by beating Maria Sakkari in three sets. She will make her top-20 debut next week, building on her incredible season after reaching the Roland Garros final.
Earlier in the week she upset World No. 11 Iva Jovic in straight sets. This is also her second WTA 1000 semi-final of 2026.
Swiatek is through to her fourth WTA 1000 semi-final of the season. The title carries weight for her, as it would place her ahead of Karolina Muchova in the WTA Race for the year-end Finals.
Chwalinska and Swiatek won European Junior Championships doubles titles together at U14 level in 2015 and U16 level in 2016. The semi-final is their first meeting in 10 years, with Swiatek prevailing in their only meeting.
A lot has changed since, as Chwalinska built her career at a slower pace and has come into her own this season. Swiatek is a 6-time Grand Slam winner, who has struggled for form over the past few months, but has found momentum in this Asian swing.
