Jack Draper and Andrey Rublev face off for the fourth time in the ATP Qatar Open 2025 final.

Andrey Rublev, the No. 5 seed, edged out Felix Auger-Aliassime to reach his 10th career ATP 500 final. The Russian withstood 21 aces from Auger-Aliassime to win 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (5) in the last four of the ATP Qatar Open 2025. The 27-year-old Rublev last won at the 2024 Mutua Madrid Open, where he defeated Auger-Aliassime to clinch his second ATP Masters title. Rublev now extends his head-to-head record against the Canadian to 6-1.

Rublev needed four match points to take the win and confirm a spot in the final against No. 23. Auger-Aliassime. The semi-final against Alex de Minaur was just as hard-fought, with the World No. 10 taking eight match points to seal the win.   

Rublev will now face Britsh left-hander Jack Draper for the fourth time in his career. Draper, the World No. 16, will be playing his fifth tour-level final.  Draper battled from behind to beat Jiri Lehecka 3-6, 7-6(2), 6-3 to reach his maiden final in the Middle East swing. 

Draper, 23, fired 14 aces and won 88 percent (45/51) first serve points to go up 2-1 against Lehecka. The top-ranked Brit is No. 12 in the live ATP rankings and will become the World No. 11 should he clinch his second ATP 500 title after Vienna and third overall. Draper is also in line to become the first male player from the United Kingdom to win the event since Andy Murray in 2008.

Draper is known for flying under the radar, as he did when he made the semi-final at the 2024 US Open. He has done the same in his first visit to the Qatari capital, defeating Matteo Berrettini and Jiri Lehecka to make the finals. In his last face-off against Rublev in New York, Draper took their game to four sets.  

Andrey Rublev has been through an eventful week, edging Alex De Minaur and Felix Auger-Aliassime in third-set tie-breaks. His rival in the title round, eighth seed Jack Draper, earned two wins in 2024 and is a different player from the one Rublev last met in 2023. The Russian was tested in the last four against Auger-Aliassime, who saved seven of eight break points against Rublev.

Playing his first event since retiring at the Australian Open, the Brit started the week well with straight-set wins over Alexei Popyrin and Christopher O’Connell. Draper fought back well in the next two rounds, coming back from a set down on each occasion to prevail over Matteo Berrettini and Jiri Lehecka. 

Draper trails Rublev 3-0 in their head-to-head. However, that was before the eighth seed claimed his maiden titles and climbed the rankings. In 2024, the British southpaw reached three finals and won two, results which will be a confidence booster as he heads into the title round match against Rublev.
