Novak Djokovic is a two-time champion in Qatar.

The ATP Qatar Open 2025 is the 33rd edition of the Qatar Open, a men’s tennis tournament to be played on outdoor hard courts. It is part of the ATP Tour 500 tournaments in the 2025 ATP Tour (upgraded from ATP Tour 250 status in previous years) and will take place at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha, Qatar from February 17 to 22.

This year, the men’s singles draw is stacked with the best players of the current era. Jannik Sinner, who was the top seed, has withdrawn after receiving a three-month ban from tennis, effective immediately.

2025 Rotterdam winner Carlos Alcaraz, who is now the top seed, will be making his debut in Doha. With Alexander Zverev not featuring in this event, the Spaniard will hope to reduce the gap on the ATP rankings, with a potential number two position up for grabs should Alcaraz win the tournament.

Meanwhile, 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic returns to Qatar with a 100th career title in sight. The two-time Qatar winner marks his first comeback since the muscle tear injury that halted him from a 11th Australian Open final, forcing him to retire midway during his semi-final encounter.

Despite the issues Djokovic has had to endure physically, the Serb continues to impress everyone having downed Alcaraz comfortably Down Under. The task for the 37-year-old will now be to win his first title since US Open 2023 (barring Olympics) and keep himself injury-free.

Daniil Medvedev, who finds himself outside the top-five ATP rankings has had a shocking start to the new season. Back-to-back losses against lower ranked players, at the Australian Open and then at the Rotterdam Open means the 2023 champion is desperately looking for some form.

In the last edition of the ATP Qatar Open, Karen Khachanov defeated Czech’s Jakub Mensik, to be crowned as the new champion.
