Jannik Sinner gets ready for hard-court action ahead of US Open.
World No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner has arrived in Ohio as the city prepares to host the biggest edition of the ATP Cincinnati Open in its history.
Ahead of the final Grand Slam of the year, the 23-year-old Italian who skipped both the Washington Open and Canadian Open is set to return to action for the first time since his Wimbledon title run.
Sinner was seen with his team at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Sunday, enjoying some relaxed moments ahead of the ATP Masters 1000 event. And why not? This is the same venue where he claimed the title last year, defeating Frances Tiafoe in the final.
Currently ranked World No. 1, Sinner has a total of four ATP Masters 1000 titles to his name. First came in Canada in 2023, followed by three more in 2024: Miami, Cincinnati, and Shanghai — all on hard courts.
In 2025, despite serving a three-month doping ban at the start of the summer, Sinner has been unstoppable. He has already won two Grand Slam titles, in Australia and at Wimbledon, and finished runner-up at Roland Garros. Now, he’s gearing up for the hard-court season and the upcoming US Open in Cincinnati.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Cincinnati Open, scheduled to begin on August 9 with main draw, is shaping up to be a special edition this time. The campus has undergone a 260 million USD renovation, featuring new courts and expanded facilities to welcome more players and fans than ever before.
