A new investment in a football club

Novak Djokovic has expanded his sporting interests beyond tennis by investing in French football club Le Mans. Joining a group of investors that includes ex-Formula 1 stars Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen, the 38-year-old is stepping into the world of football business.

Trip to Greece

Following his trip to Croatia, Djokovic spent time in Greece, where he was seen relaxing at a beach club and interacting warmly with fans.

Nammos, the ultra-luxurious hotel where the Serbian icon resided, has previously hosted several high-profile names, including Beyoncé and Jay-Z, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mariah Carey, and Kendall Jenner.

During his June visit to Athens, Djokovic met with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis over dinner in the upscale Kolonaki district.

The meeting was no coincidence, as the 24-time Grand Slam winner plans to permanently relocate to Athens from September onwards, through Greece’s Golden Visa residency program, which allows non-EU citizens to live in the country in exchange for investment.

When is Djokovic expected to return to tennis action?

Novak Djokovic skipped the Canadian Masters, opting to rest and recover after a gruelling first six months of the 2025 season. This extends his absence from the tournament, having last featured in Canada back in 2018. The Serbian is expected to play at the Cincinnati Open before the US Open.

He previously played and won in Cincinnati in 2023, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in a thrilling three-set epic clash. He also avenged his loss to Alcaraz in the Wimbledon 2023 final.
