Sinner met Lewis Hamilton in the Ferrari paddock.
Jannik Sinner took some time off the pre-season grind with a trip to the Maldives before heading to Dubai to train for the 2026 season and his quest for a third straight Australian Open title. The Italian finished as World No. 2 despite an unbeaten title run at Turin, relinquishing the top spot to Spanish rival Carlos Alcaraz.
Sinner’s 65-week run at the top of the ATP rankings came to an end during the season finale in November.
The 24-year-old Sinner won six titles in 2025, reached all four Grand Slam finals, won his maiden Paris Masters trophy, and retained the year-ending ATP Finals title he won last year. The Italian finished the year with a 58-6 win-loss record and added a maiden Wimbledon title to his growing collection.
Taking time out from his training session, Sinner headed to Abu Dhabi to catch some Formula 1 action at the final race of the season. The Italian tennis star visited the Ferrari paddock, where he ran into seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Sinner visited the Yas Marina Circuit with his girlfriend, Laila Hasanovic, and also caught up with Hamilton’s Ferrari teammate, Charles Leclerc. The Italian also rubbed shoulders with Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell.
Sinner was treated to a hot lap by fellow Italian, Antonelli, in an all-black AMG Mercedes, and watched Lando Narros claim the 2025 F1 driver’s championships. Norris finished third in the final race of the season to deny Max Verstappen a fifth straight driver’s title.
The Italian, an AC Milan fan, also met up with football legends Ronaldinho, Thierry Henry, and Micah Richards on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix over the weekend.
Sinner will be aiming to emulate Novak Djokovic when the 2026 season gets underway. The last person to secure three straight titles in Melbourne was Djokovic (2019-2021).
Djokovic has never lost a final at the Australian Open, and the young Italian remains on track to do the same after winning back-to-back titles at Melbourne Park in 2023 and 2024.
