The ATP World No. 1 has now reached the final in five of the six tournaments that he has competed in this year.

Jannik Sinner stormed to his second straight final and fifth in six competitions with a straight set win over unseeded Frenchman Terence Atmane at Cincinnati Open 2025. Sinner, who set up a finale date with rival Carlos Alcaraz, is seeking to defend his title at the ATP 1000 Masters event.

The 24-year-old dispatched World No. 75, Atmane, in an hour and 26 minutes to reach consecutive finals. En route, he also registered his 200th win on hard courts on the same day that he celebrated his 24th birthday.

There was more reason to celebrate as he also surpassed Roger Federer to become the youngest to reach eight consecutive finals—ATP Masters 1000 and Grand Slam events combined.

At 23 years and 356 days, Sinner overtook Roger Federer, who achieved the feat at 24 years and 273 days, according to Opta statistics.

Not only that, but Sinner also recently joined tennis’ “Big 3” by reaching his ninth straight quarter-final at ATP Masters 1000 events. He’s only behind Federer (10), Novak Djokovic (15) and Rafael Nadal (21) in the elite list of most consecutive quarter-finals reached in ATP Masters 1000 events.

As a behemoth at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Sinner has yet to drop a single set in his Cincinnati campaign, warming up for the US Open 2025 title defense.

He defeated Adrian Mannarino 6-4, 7-6(4) in the fourth round, then dominated Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-0, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals, where he thrashed Terence Atmane 7-6(4), 6-2 to book his spot in the final against arch-rival Alcaraz.

The title clash against Alcaraz will mark their fourth consecutive final in major events, following showdowns at the Italian Open, Roland Garros, and Wimbledon.
