Jannik Sinner will return to action in Ohio after Wimbledon victory.
World No. 1 Jannik Sinner will return to action at the Cincinnati Open 2025 on Saturday, August 9, his first tournament since winning Wimbledon last month. The event will serve as the Italian’s final warm-up before he defends his title at the US Open 2025.
Sinner begins his hard-court campaign with a first-round match against Colombia’s Daniel Elahi Galan on Saturday in Cincinnati.
It will be his first match since triumphing at the All England Club, as he opted to skip both the Washington Open and Canadian Open to recharge and prepare for the final Grand Slam of the year.
Once the action wraps at Flushing Meadows, Sinner’s attention will shift to Asia. Sinner is confirmed for the Beijing ATP 500, which is scheduled to start from September 24.
“He’s back as promised! ATP World No. 1 Jannik Sinner returns to the China Open for the third consecutive year!” said the China Open organizers in their official X handle.
The tournament is nothing new for the four-time Grand Slam winner, as he has already tasted victory on Chinese soil in 2023, defeating Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals and Daniil Medvedev in the final.
The World No. 1 is also expected to return to the Shanghai Masters 1000, where he stunned Novak Djokovic in last year’s championship match.
Sinner’s 2025 season has been one of dominance. Since claiming the top spot in June 2024, he has successfully defended his Australian Open crown, served a three-month suspension, reached the Roland Garros final, and secured his maiden Wimbledon title.

Despite serving a three-month doping ban earlier in 2025, Jannik Sinner has already secured his place at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin this November.
