Jannik Sinner vs Francisco Cerundolo prediction, betting tips & odds, head-to-head, preview: Paris Masters 2025

Sinner kicked off his Paris campaign with a 22nd indoor hard-court win.

Jannik Sinner began his bid for a title in Paris with a clinical 6-4, 6-2 victory against Zizou Bergs. Fresh from his victory at Vienna last week, the World No. 2 produced an emphatic performance to take the lead against his Belgian opponent in their maiden tour-level clash.

Sinner notched up his 22nd indoor hard-court victory of the season to deny Bergs his quarter-final debut at the Paris Masters. It took only 90 minutes for the 24-year-old Sinner to record his 90th win at a Masters level event.

Sinner, the No. 2 seed, will be taking on Argentine Francisco Cerundolo for a chance to reach the quarter-finals of the ATP 1000 event for the first time.

Cerundolo had to dig deep to secure a 7-5, 1-6, 7-6(4) win against Miomir Kecmanovic to advance in two hours and 26 minutes.

Serbia’s Kecmanovic played an impressive second set, breaking Cerundolo’s serve twice, but found himself pegged back with the Argentine’s 43 winners. In reply, Kecmanovic could only muster 16 winners, while his 17 unforced errors sealed his fate as he lost to Cerundolo for the third time in a row.

Cerundolo and Sinner will be crossing paths for the second time this season after the Rome Masters. The upcoming clash marks the first time they face each other at the Paris Masters.

Preview

Fresh off winning his second ATP 500 Vienna Open trophy, Sinner will look to make the most of Carlos Alcaraz’s early exit at the 2025 Paris Masters. The Spaniard has been something of a thorn in Sinner’s side in the 2025 season, with Alcaraz winning four of five in their head-to-head this year.

The World No. 2 has emerged as the clear favourite to claim his fifth title of the season on Sunday. A possible quarter-final meeting with Ben Shelton and a semi-final clash with defending champion Alexander Zverev likely await Sinner if he can find a way past Francisco Cerundolo.

Sinner delighted a young fan and made his day by handing over his racquet after his straight sets win over Zizou Bergs.

A competitive clay court player, the Argentine began his season strongly by reaching the title round at Buenos Aires and made the last four at Rio de Janeiro and Santiago. Cerundolo also made the semi-finals in Munich and Madrid, following which he broke into the ATP Top 20.

A string of poor results following the clay court swing saw Cerundolo drop out of the elite club, even as Sinner went on to win his maiden Wimbledon title, along with victories in Shanghai and Vienna in the second half of the season.

Match prediction

Sinner relishes indoor hard courts, having won eight titles on the surface. However, the Italian has fallen short of a deep run at the Paris Masters, where he is yet to get past the third round.

After breezing past Zizou Bergs in the second round, Sinner is 6-0 at indoor hard-court events in 2025. Cerundolo, while known for his gritty playing style, has yet to win a complete match against Sinner on a non-clay surface.

The Argentine overcame Sinner at the 2023 Italian Open, with the World No. 2 repaying the favour in 2025.

Barring Cerundolo finding his hard-court feet, evidence points to another no contest, with the result going in Sinner’s favour.

Result: Jannik Sinner to win in straight sets.
