Jannik Sinner's projected path to Paris Masters 2025 Final

Jannik Sinner defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the Six Kings Slam final to defend his title in Riyadh.

Italian tennis star Jannik Sinner is seeded second at ATP Paris Masters 2025, only behind his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz. Drawn in the lower half of the Masters event, the four-time Grand Slam champion is expected to continue his dominant run on the ATP tour while challenging the Spaniard for his top spot in the rankings.

Sinner withdrew from the tournament last year due to fitness issues, while Alcaraz lost to eventual runner-up Ugo Humbert in the third round.

The Italian has already secured a spot in the ATP Finals; however, the title triumph in the French capital will give the 24-year-old a lead in the rankings. On that note, let’s take a look at Jannik Sinner’s projected path to the Paris Masters 2025 final.

First round: Bye

The top eight seeds of the 2025 Paris Masters have received a bye.

Second Round: Zizou Bergs/Alex Michelsen

The winner of the first-round clash between Zizou Bergs and Alex Michelsen will face Jannik Sinner in the subsequent match. Bergs reached the quarterfinals of the Shanghai Masters earlier this month, where he lost to 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.

Alex Michelsen was eliminated in the semifinals of the Atmaty Open after losing to Frenchman Corentin Moutet. The American tennis player has faced Sinner twice on the tour and has failed to win even a single set. Meanwhile, Bergs will face the four-time Grand Slam champion for the first time if he beats Michelsen.

Third Round: Francisco Cerúndolo

Jannik Sinner is likely to lock horns against Argentina’s Francisco Cerúndolo in the third round. Seeded 17th, Cerúndolo is expected to challenge the limits of the top stars of the tournament.

However, the 27-year-old is no stranger to facing the Italian tennis star. The two have faced each other five times on the tour, and Cerúndolo has recorded two wins. They last crossed paths in the Round of 16 of the 2025 Rome Masters, where Sinner won in straight sets.

Quarterfinals: Ben Shelton

Ben Shelton has faced Jannik Sinner seven times on the tour and has won only once. His only win came in their maiden clash in 2023; the American tennis star has failed to keep up with the echelon of Sinner. Shelton last reached a quarterfinal during the North American swing, where he lost to Alexander Zverev in straight sets.

With only one title this season, he will look forward to securing a huge victory in the Paris Masters. However, he would also have to overcome the likes of Andrey Rublev, Nuno Borges, Learner Tien, Tomas Machac and more.

Semifinals: Alexander Zverev/Daniil Medvedev

Defending champion Alexander Zverev will try to safeguard his Masters title in the French capital. His recent form hasn’t been great; however, the German tennis player has established himself as a big-game player, and he’s also the only player this year to play a Grand Slam final except Sinner and Alcaraz.

Meanwhile, it seems like Daniil Medvedev is slowly catching up to his form. The former US Open champion is seeded 11th in the tournament, but he’s also expected to play a duel against returning Grigor Dimitrov and Italian tennis star Lorenzo Musetti. Either way, the clash would be a top-level contest.

Final: Carlos Alcaraz
