We used to fight against each other- Carlos Alcaraz talks about rivals ahead of debut at Laver Cup 2024

Carlos Alcaraz will be leading the charge for Team Europe at Laver Cup 2024.
The Laver Cup 2024 will see the tradition of including top young talents as Carlos Alcaraz will be making his much-awaited debut in the event. He spoke about being on the same team with his rivals although they were competing against each other few weeks back. Alcaraz mentioned that he will try to enjoy as he much as he can on the court.
The Spaniard said, “We used to fight against each other. Now, in this tournament we are going to cheer up each other. It’s going to be a beautiful thing.” He will be hoping to register wins against his rivals on the courts but this time it will be on a much lighter note. Alcaraz will be cheered on by his teammates as he will get used to the energy present throughout the event.
The world No.3 will be playing for team Europe and will join Daniil Medvedev, Grigor Dimitrov, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev. Team Europe will have two alternate players, Flavio Cobolli and Jan-Lennard Struff who are making their debuts in this event. The players will be led by Bjorn Borg and vice-captain Thomas Enqvist.
The fans will also get to watch Alcaraz play doubles in Laver Cup 2024. The young Spaniard showcased impressive skills at the net at Paris Olympics 2024 and in the Davis Cup during the tie against Czechia.
Alcaraz led Spain into the final-eight of the Davis Cup 2024 with his all-round court tactics which will come to use in Laver Cup 2024. He has already met with the legends of the game and is filled with inspiration to deliver his best.

Carlos Alcaraz meets Rod Laver, Bjorn Borg & John McEnroe in Laver Cup 2024
It was a clash of inter-generational stars ahead of Laver Cup 2024 at Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. Alcaraz was seen sharing few words with Rod Laver and was also joined by John McEnroe. He shared a handshake with the former legends and will be playing against McEnroe’s team for the next couple of days.
The four-time Grand Slam champion also shared a picture on social media with his team captain, Bjorn Borg. The stakes are high for Alcaraz as he will be watched by the icons of the game including Roger Federer. Fans can expect few practice sessions between Federer and Alcaraz as the pair did not get a chance to compete against each other on the ATP tour.
