Roger Federer was seen practicing on the courts ahead of Laver Cup 2024.
The Laver Cup 2024 saw Roger Federer make a comeback to the event. He was seen rallying on the court while practicing few of his iconic shots. Federer will look to spend time with the next generation of stars just like he did last season. The former world No.1 had the fans in awe during Laver Cup 2023 while showing off his classic one-handed backhand which still had the same style and charisma.
This time, Federer opted to practice few backhand volleys at the net. He embraced the courts at Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. During a practice session, Federer was praised for still having kept the majestic backhand slice by John McEnroe. The Swiss player even jokingly told him to be careful as he has still got it. Federer also made sure to meet Grigor Dimitrov while he was gearing up for day one.
Roger’s backhand beauty was also shared on social media under the official X handle of Laver Cup. He was seen looking around the courts while holding his racket in his hand. Federer will be looking to spend time with Bjorn Borg and McEnroe as they will not be captains in the next season.
Yannick Noah, Andre Agassi will be the captains of team Europe and team World respectively. Fans usually get to see new players each season as they will see new captains leading the teams next.
But few players such as Roger Federer have been constant in every edition of Laver Cup. He has always made it to the event and carries on his responsibilities as the co-founder.
